Episode 31 - The "Shindig" Fieldtrip

This week I had my first ... and second...field trip of my year in Kindergarten.
On Thursday we went to see the movie Oceans. It was in a movie theatre and I got popcorn and pop! It was awesome.
Then on Friday we went to this thing called the Shindig. I really didn't know what that meant. My mom went on both fieldtrips, but she only rode the bus on Friday. It was fun, I got to sit by her.
Anyway, this Shindig turned out to be this choir performance by one of the high schools here (even though we actually went to the college to see it). This choir was the state champion of 2010.
The theme was all about super heros. They did songs about a whole bunch of them. Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Mighty Mouse (I have no idea who that is anyway), Underdog, Mario and Luigi, and some others I can't remember. It was pretty fun to watch. They did a lot of dancing around instead of just standing there like other choirs.
When we went outside Ms. Underpants was standing there, so my mom took a picture of her with me and my friends.
You can't really see because I am standing in front of her, but she has boy underwear on OVER her pants. It looked really funny!

Here's my class on the bus.
My teacher, Mrs. Riley, is on the bottom on the left of that picture.

On the way home something crazy happened. A kid on the sidewalk threw a ROCK and it hit our window and broke it. It broke next to Mrs. Riley. My mom even got hit by a piece of the glass. Here's what the window looked like.
It looked kind of cool. The whole window was broken into a hundred million little pieces, even though only that little hole was the only part that actually fell out.

Here's what the window looked like from the outside.
Two field trips two days in a row! What an awesome week for me!!!!!

Episode 30 1/2 - The Birthday Song Video

Episode 30 - My 6th Birthday!

My mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told her A PARTY with my friends.
Well...I didn't get what I wanted. In fact the day was a bit boring.
First off, I had to go to school! I did take treats to share with my class and one other girl, Selena, had her birthday the same day too. When I got home, Mom was busy giving piano lessons so the two kids next door came and played a little.
Daddy didn't get home until almost 7 o'clock, but he did bring me an awesome surprise!!
FLOWERS and BALLOONS!!!!!

After we ate the pizza he also brought we did the birthday "party" at home with just my family.
This was my cake. It wasn't really a cake. I don't think mom understood me that morning. But...oh well...it was really good anyway. I WANTED lemon bread, I just didn't think it would still LOOK like lemon bread. It was fun to put the candles on though!

Here's me with the candles all lit!

And here's me blowing out my candles! (They are such weird looking pictures. Why does everyone take a "blowing-out-the-candles picture anyway??)

I got some cards in the mail! One from my Great Aunt Karen and Uncle Dennis. They live in Fargo, ND. And one from Nana and Papa! (I also got one the next day from Grandmama and Grandpapa Jones too.) And the best part of them...THEY ALL HAD MONEY IN THEM!!!!! THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!!
Nana's card made me laugh! She said something about me being a LITTLE LADY! Hehe, I thought that was so funny for some reason!

Well...as with any kid I'm sure, the best part of a birthday is definitely OPENING PRESENTS!!

I got lots of Littlest Pet Shop stuff from the Christenson's. THANK YOU!
And there's little pets in there too.

I got a turtle I didn't have yet from the Swenson's. I also got an AWESOME pillowcase with Littlest Pet Shop material that Aunt Jill made. (But my mom didn't have a picture of that.) I LOVE IT! I sleep on it every night!!! THANK YOU TOO!

From my family I got a little pet shop game.
HMM. Lots of little pet shop stuff I guess.

From the Cooks I got some AWESOME markers and coloring books. Not just regular ones...these are EXTRA fun ones!! THANK YOU TOO!
I hopped in and played with those first actually. Even before I had some of my "cake".

Cassee didn't waste any time either. She started playing with my new little pets.
But that's okay...I love her and always share with her anyway! (At least mom makes me even if I don't want to.)
Her birthday is in a couple weeks. I think I'll get to play with her new presents too!!!!! hehe

Episode 29 - Easter!!!!!

Of course I learned all about Jesus at Eastertime. My mom made sure I knew why we celebrated Easter. Jesus died and then was resurrected three days later. We had a family home evening about it and I learned about it at church. Still...I think the Easter Bunny was the funnest part! I just can't help myself. What 5 year old could?? It's kind of like Christmas, again! I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny knows Santa. Could they share the same list?
I do know that my Aunt Dorothy knows the Easter Bunny because one time she said that she helped him hide eggs in her backyard. I told my mom she should tell Dorothy what I wanted in my basket and Dorothy could call the Easter Bunny. I don't think my mom did though. I really didn't get any of my requests (pom poms and a cheerleading uniform) in my basket. Oh well, it was still fun to get something!

Here is my Easter dress my mom found. Of course, Cassee got the same one. I really don't like matching Cassee all the time...well none of the time really. Mom usually makes me. I hate that, but what can I say, mom is still the boss...for now. Here's my cute funny pose!
Even though I don't really like matching her, I still do love her... most of the time!

Then we dyed eggs. I love dyeing eggs!!! I begged my mom for DAYS to do this!!! I could do it everyday if she'd let me. BUT... I really don't like eating them. I just like to dye them and then play with them. That is, until they crack and mom makes me throw them away.
My mom really likes to dye eggs too. I wish she would have boiled more eggs to do! 26 just wasn't enough. And I only got to do 6 of those!

Easter morning I had to search and search for my basket. I found everyone else's but mine! I was getting a little discouraged so mom gave me some ideas about where the Easter Bunny used to hide her basket when she was little.
I finally found my basket IN THE DRYER!
Life was good again after that!
I did get a new coloring book, some play doh, and two little pets.
And some cool markers with a rolling stamp at one end!

We all got one of these crazy masks. It was fun! I was REALLY glad I got green, cause it's my favorite color lately!

And last, but not least, here's me finding some candy filled eggs in the backyard. Some were up in the tree. Good thing I can climb trees! The fun just kept on going that day!
Thanks Easter Bunny! And of course Jesus for making Easter first!

Episode 28 - Snarding

This is a new word I made up. I use it all the time now. My mother laughs everytime I say it. Here's what it means.
Example 1: We were all laying on some blankets on the floor in Adam's room reading stories. I got upset and said that Cassee was snarding all the blankets.
Example 2: We got a present from Nana and Papa in the mail. It was really Adam's birthday present, but they put an extra present in the box for Cassee and me. We both got a play cell phone and car keys with a keychain. (Totally awesome, by the way.) The only problem was that Adam didn't get a cell phone and he kept snarding mine.
My mother has deducted that it's my way of saying that someone is hogging stuff. Snarding the blankets, snarding my toys. Everyone in my house keeps snarding, and it's driving me nuts!
Although I do now love to use that new word. Snarding... doesn't that sound fun to say!!

Episode 27 - Dancing

I love to dance!

Someone give me some clogs!! I'm going to be awesome! (Just like my Aunt Julia!) This song is my favorite to dance to, Cotton-Eyed Joe.
My mom is looking for a place for me to take dance lessons again in the fall. I hope she finds something!

Episode 26 - North Dakota isn't always cold?

Tonight I was talking to my mom in the car. She said that Cassee was going to be in preschool when I go to first grade. I told her that I was going to first grade in about 5 or 6 days.
She said it would be a lot more days than that. I just wasn't sure. Then she said we have to finish winter, have spring, the baby will come, go all through the summer, go on our trip to ND, and then I would be in first grade. I told her I wanted to go to ND during the summer because it is too hot and I'd have to take off all my clothes if I stayed here.
Mom then told me that it gets hot in ND in the summer too. I was SHOCKED!!
She asked what I thought ND was like and I told her that I thought it always had snow! She just laughed at me. I guess the only times I remember being in ND was when it was cold. I had no idea that Nana and Papa ever lived where it was warm.
Now I guess I can't go there to cool off in the summertime!
